No laughing matter

No doubt yesterday many of you will have made a contribution towards Comic Relief, thinking it would all go to good causes. You know, like this:

Comic Relief is funding Alcohol Concern to identify and submit alcohol projects and initiatives for young people.
Hmm, I don’t want any of my donations to go to an organisation dedicated to jacking up alcohol taxes and closing pubs down, thank you very much.

  2. Marvellous, isn't it? Government gives money to a 'charity' it formed itself in 1985. A different charity then gives money to a government-funded 'charity'.

You pay for a charity that no-one wants, via your taxes, then pay again to a charity you trust so that they can give money to the 'charity' that you have, unknowingly, already given to.

Whether you choose to give, or it is taken from you, all roads lead to abstinence.

  4. Red Nose Day is described in the Sunday Times by Rod Liddle as a self-congratulatory, fascistic smugfest.

    Well said that man!

  5. Very good point, often ignored by the general media. Sadly I think most people don't realise the truth and just see it as a opportunity to raise money for "charity."
