I left the latter (or at least haven't signed in) a few years ago because of the torrent of political posts not by any blogger or celebrity but by my family! With Twitter, you get a list of small snap shots to engage with or ignore.<br />People in the pub treat each other with respect. I'm struck how different social media and pub life are: two people will chat and share some news and then get on their mobiles to join an online assault against someone with the same political views the person they were just speaking to! You snipe/shut down/righteously condemn etc etc online but you ask after their mother in the bar.<br />I like forums and posts where people treat each other a bit more like they would in the pub. I love to hear different opinions - it's often more interesting than consensus.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07921858416849788564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623537812609722663.post-58122531288448910142017-05-27T17:21:32.005+01:002017-05-27T17:21:32.005+01:00Well done Curm and long may it continue. I'm a lefty, and remainer. I'm here for the beer, cats, heritage, and metal, and happy to follow on that basis (that there's plenty we agree on, and just some we don't). I've often compared Twitter to a public bar: if you wouldn't say something to someone there, don't say it on the net, including Twitter. One thing you're right on for sure, is that Twitter works best if it represents a personality, when it has character.stymasterhttp://www.piglet-net.net/pigblog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623537812609722663.post-9574897774181094162017-05-27T15:18:33.487+01:002017-05-27T15:18:33.487+01:00The only problem being that you can't mute or ...The only problem being that you can't mute or block people in real life...Curmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02558747878308766840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623537812609722663.post-70459591714869036722017-05-27T15:01:47.182+01:002017-05-27T15:01:47.182+01:00"Basically, you get more out of Twitter if yo..."Basically, you get more out of Twitter if you keep on good terms with people rather than calling them names."<br /><br />Twitter reflects life.
