More Blogger problems

As you probably noticed, Blogger was offline for the best part of a day on Thursday evening and Friday last week, and a lot of posts and comments vanished into thin air. Fortunately, I didn’t lose any posts (and I always compose them in draft first anyway), but a number of comments made on this one disappeared.

Now, on the latest poll, I’m sure there had been 27 votes yesterday, but the total has now reduced to 18, so clearly all is still not well.

  1. A couple of my Thursday posts disappeared for ever, but hey. I set up a parallel log at WordPress.

  2. Actually, thinking about it, I get all comments e-mailed to me on my gmail account, so they'll still be there. I might as well spend half an hour tonight recreating them, although obviously the usernames won't link to people's IDs.

  3. I've lost comments and posts I think too, but unsure what ones.

  4. I've now reinstated all the comments I believe were lost. I think they are all on the "Drinking in the Atmosphere" thread.

All cut and pasted as was - I resisted the temptation to attribute anti smoking ban sentiments to yourself or Tyson ;-)

  5. Oddly, the balance of answers in the Spoons poll seems to have changed. Yesterday there were proportionately a lot more in the 31-50 category.

  6. At first, I thought it was just my blog playing up again - I've recently had problems posting pictures above a certain size, but found a workaround; and a while ago it wouldn't post anything at all for 2 or 3 days. After I'd spent an afernoon trying to sort it out, it suddenly woke up and posted everything at once.

I can think of 16 Wetherspoons that I've been to.

  7. Hey, I don't think I posted anything on the smoking ban, but you know, if you're ever running short...:)

  8. Polls still seem to be playing up, which is why I have scrapped the Blogger poll on CAMRA and non-cask beer and substituted an external poll.
