I see that, due to a computer error, three Tesco stores in the West of Scotland were selling 3 cases of beer for £11 rather than £20. Not surprisingly, this led to a stampede of customers and the police had to be called to the Greenock branch. The look on the faces of Don Shenker and the joyless prohibitionists of the current Scottish government when they heard the news must have been priceless.
And the supermarkets claim that their pricing has no effect on pubs. This proves pricing is very important to many customers.
ReplyDeleteThey were probably all smokers who have been expelled from the pubs and have nowehre else to buy. It proves nothing except the lefties continue to support prohibition on smoking.
ReplyDeleteAre you the same 'anonymous' who used to write whimsical nonsense? If so, I think I preferred the iritating whimsy.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you're wrong: it doesn't prove anything about smoking - only that you have a one-track mind. This was a post about cheap booze.
I'm sure all the Tories who voted enthusiastically for the smoking ban would be startled to be described as Lefties. But then, I wouldn't expect someone who goes so badly off-topic to know the differences between Left and Right.
When you say 3 cases of beer for £11 I presume that it is nothing that I would be seen dead drinking?
ReplyDelete"When you say 3 cases of beer for £11 I presume that it is nothing that I would be seen dead drinking?"
ReplyDeleteI think you can rest assured that is the case, as it were...

ReplyDelete:¬)) My thoughts exactly! "Tesco's own" stripey or something similarly underwhelming I'd guess.
